Your Access vs. Our Access
To guarantee that your website remains fast, secure, and beautifully designed, MyFlatCMS uses a safe two-tier access model.
Think of your website like a custom-built house. We design and build the foundation, the walls, and the architectural layout. You are given the keys to paint the rooms, arrange the furniture, and hang your pictures. This means you have full, everyday control over your content, while the core structure remains protected from accidental breakage.
Here is exactly how those responsibilities are divided.
Your Role: Editor Access (What You Control)
As the Client, you are granted an Editor account. This gives you complete freedom to manage your day-to-day content, media, and basic site settings without ever needing to contact us for minor updates.
With your Editor account, you can:
- Manage Content: Edit all text and images, reorder sections, and publish updates instantly. You can add, delete, and reorder individual Service items, News items, and Portfolio images.
- Handle Media: Upload and delete images and PDF documents (like brochures or price lists) directly through your media library.
- Update Menus & Footer: Edit menu labels and links, reorder menu items, and update footer text, social media links, and opening hours.
- Adjust Global Branding: Change the overall site colors and typography (fonts) to match your evolving brand.
- Control Publishing & Backups: Save drafts, preview changes before they go live, publish updates, and create or download your own content backups at any time.
- Manage Basic Settings: Update your SEO settings and email (SMTP) routing.
Our Role: Administrator Access (What We Handle)
MyFlatCMS retains exclusive Administrator access. We handle the technical foundation, structural changes, and advanced configurations. This ensures that the site’s design integrity is never compromised and that the underlying code remains secure.
As Administrators, we handle:
- Core Structure: Adding or deleting entirely new pages, and upgrading the site's overall structure (for example, expanding a One-Page layout into a Multi-Page structure).
- Design & Layout: Changing the actual design of specific sections (backgrounds, spacing, layouts), adding or removing structural blocks, and modifying the Hero banner design.
- Advanced Media: Uploading and managing background videos.
- Technical & Utility Setup: Installing or removing core Utilities (Add-ons), adding custom CSS code, integrating tracking/analytics scripts, and setting up secondary language switch links.
- Security & User Management: Adding or removing user accounts, resetting passwords, viewing activity logs, and applying advanced password protection to specific Grids or the Homepage.
- System Limits: Adjusting upload size limits and maximum item counts to ensure server performance.
